Benefit is a brand I’ve always been intrigued by, they’re branding is so feminine and fun and that’s just the packaging. The actual formulas of the products are so good. Several of the products are known world wide! For Christmas this year I received the “Best of Benefit” kit, after a couple months of trying out the products I thought I’d do a mini review of each product.
This face primer is silicon based and it perfect for smoothing skin texture and creating an even skin tone which makes the best base for foundation and other makeup. My makeup applied nicer and lasted longer, I also found I was less oily throughout the day.
– this lightweight lip and cheek tint I’ve been reaching for on no makeup days. A little goes a very long way. Dabbing 3 small dots on the apples of your cheeks and blending out with a brush creates the most beautiful flush. The best way to create the “I’ve just ran 10 miles” glow.
Without a doubt it’s now a daily staple, a beautiful glisten that can be added to any makeup look. This cream product has a small brush applicator that can be applied straight to the face. This is well loved by many and is a highlighting staple in many bloggers makeup bags.
This concealer duo I’ve had a love/hate relationship, the consistency is very thick and creamy, it’s not overly easy to blend but does pack a punch when it comes to coverage. Plus I do like that it comes with two different shades which is great for contouring.
– A classic it’s been around for ever, it’s a finely milled powder that’s suitable for both contouring and as a bronzer. However I’ve persevered with this but I just don’t like the finish. It looks a little muddy for me and I prefer a more golden finish that’s warmer on the face.
This is the sister product of the insanely famous mascara that I’ll talk about later. This eyeliner is tricky, it’s colour pay off is great and it’s long lasting but it’s a pain to apply. The applicator in theory is genius and I’m sure with practice it would be a dream but I just can’t get into it. The formula is too thick to be spread and the nib is quite tough.
Best for last, this mascara has been sold millions of times worldwide and is the worlds best selling mascara. Needless to say I expected great things.. and I was not disappointed. This flawless mascara separates lashes and adds volume at the root. Without a doubt one of the best mascaras I’ve ever tried and I’d love to get my hands on a full size.
So overall this set was fab for trying out Benefit as a brand and getting a feel for their products. I loved it and I’ve got some firm faves that have yet to leave my makeup bag.
